Learn anatomy, physiology, and the signs, symptoms and prevention disease. Explore medical careers in your areas of interest, as well as in high demand jobs. Learn procedures for patient care including taking blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respirations, as well as feeding, lifting and exercise. Health unit coordination, clinical program computer use, charting and patient documentation are also taught in this program featuring real-world experience with patients. A portion of the year is spent in a supervised clinical experience working with patients. This prepares students for entrance into a college level nursing or medical programs, as well as for certification as a Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant.
