Evaluating the impact of parenting roles and responsibilities on strengthening the well being of individuals and families is the focus of the course. It is designed to assist students in developing appropriate skills and attitudes in working and living with young children. Ongoing planned learning experiences with young children are an essential component. Areas of study include the intellectual, social, emotional and biological development of children, parent-child relationships, parenting practices, special needs of children, parental and environmental influences on child development, and external support systems.
